The Western Hardrock Watershed Team
Our sister team, the Western Hardrock Watershed Team (WHWT) was started by Dr. Comp in 2007. It was patterned after the ACCT as an OSM/VISTA initiative. The WHWT is a coalition of community/watershed improvement groups confronting the inherited environmental and social challenges that afflict rural communities in the hardrock mining belt of the American West. The Team serves in rural mining communities throughout Colorado and will soon be expanding into New Mexico. The WHWT is a program of the Southwest Conservation Corps.
